Dębica is a town located in the western part of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, on the northern edge of the Strzyżowskie Foothills, by the Wisłoka river. It is the seat of Dębica County. Dębica’s population is 46,000 people, whereas its total area is 34 km². It gained its urban rights in 1358.

Dębica is divided into 10 housing estates. They are the Świętosława, Słoneczne, Krakowska-Północ, Krakowska-Południe, Rzeszowska-Północ, Rzeszowska-Południe, Centrum, Kępa-Wolica, Gawrzyłowa-Mickiewicza, and Kawęczyn-Pana Tadeusza estates.

Dębica is also among the most vital industrial centres of south-eastern Poland. Food, rubber and chemical industries play a dominant role in Dębica’s economy. The main production plants in Dębica and its surrounding areas include Tire Company Dębica S.A, Tikkurila Beckers-Polifarb Dębica, Śnieżka Paint and Varnish Factory, as well as Zakłady Mięsne Dębica, Igloomeat-Sokołów and Animex Południe meat processing plants. The town is also home to a refrigeration equipment factory.

Dębica’s most notable landmarks include the St. Jadwiga church, the parish cemetery, the military cemetery, the Jewish cemetery, the Wolica manor complex, the New Town Synagogue, the former palace of the Raczyński family, as well as military barracks.

Its location is also very favourable when it comes to transport. Dębica is situated near the A4 motorway, with two exits available in its vicinity. To the south lies the national road No 94 (DK94). Additionally, railway route E30 passes through Dębica as well, with two railway stations available to passengers.
